Unveiling a journey of creative innovation and exploration, the Odette's Journey Quilt Book is inspired by a woman of ingenuity and perseverance that contributed greatly to the sewing and quilting machine world. This book invites you on a captivating exploration of a variety of settings, borders and techniques that, partnered with your creativity, will result in a quilt that is truly your own.
In 1990 international quilt designer and Author Kaye England, had the inspiration to do a series of quilts based on the lives of women in history. She featured blocks honoring women such as Martha Washington, Frances Cleveland, Lucille Ball, Hellen Keller, Christy McAuliffe and many others. When refreshing her collection earlier this year, Kaye and her friend Gayle Hillert decided to create a quilting book honoring Odette Ueltschi who ran the BERNINA company from 1965, and became president in 1979. She ushered in new products, innovation and customer connection. This quilt book features the flagship quilt blocks called Odette's Quilt Blocks, and features a variety of setting options, color layouts and unique examples of how this versatile block can create a show-stopping quilt that can be as unique and creative as the quilter maker themselves.
