Voices of the Past: Frances Cleveland Quilt Pattern

This 12 inch pieced block is highlighted by an alternate solid fabric block, leaving lots of space for great quilting. A straight set resulting in a square quilt. You could of course add more rows to create a queen or king size quilt. Some earlier quiltmakers designed this block to honor one of our First Ladies and we’re delighted to share the story with you. We chose a very scrappy look for the pieced block supported by a plain fabric for the alternate block. You could choose to work in a more organized manner, but remember that a wide variety of light, medium and dark fabrics make this even more exciting.
