The Forestburgh Collection, curated by Heather Ross, is a unique and heartfelt exploration inspired by her recent move to Forestburgh, New York. Having spent over a decade in the bustling environment of New York City, Heather now finds solace in the small town charm of Forestburgh, located in the Southern Catskills. This collection is an embodiment of the essence of Forestburgh and Heather's daily experiences in this quaint town.
Key Features:
-
Inspiration from Daily Life: Prints in the Forestburgh collection draw inspiration from Heather's everyday life in Forestburgh. This includes elements such as the pair of fawns in the surrounding woods, apple trees marking long ago homesteads, and the lush carpet of clover in her unkempt gardens.
-
Small-Town Charm: Forestburgh, though small, encompasses all the elements that Heather values. This includes a general store fostering friendship, serving excellent cookies and a good IPA, a volunteer fire department signifying the presence of good people, and a dependable rope swing over clean, clear water.
-
Color Palette: The collection features a moodier and earthier color palette, punctuated with bright greens and yellows. This blend of colors reflects the natural beauty and nuances of Forestburgh, capturing the essence of the town's landscapes.
-
Quilting Story: Heather Ross's favorite quilts are those that tell a story. In creating this quilt, Windham delved into the deepest corners of their warehouse to source both current and out-of-print Heather Ross fabrics and bolt ends. These were combined with favorite Ruby and Bee solids and a few new prints from Forestburgh. The result is a quilt that pays homage to the work and history of the women of Gees Bend.
-
Dimensions: The finished dimensions of the quilt are approximately 50” x 65”, providing a size that is not only visually appealing but also practical for various uses, such as quilts, bedding, and more.
Quilt Kit includes fabrics for Quilt top and binding, also printed pattern. Finished size is 50 x 65 inches.
